Porsche 718 T, More Driving Pleasure for the Cayman and Boxster

The Porsche 718 Cayman T and 718 Boxster T deliver a purer, more dynamic driving experience inspired by the 911 Carrera T. Porsche uses the “T” designation for “Touring,” representing driving pleasure in its purest form.

Both models use a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged boxer engine producing 300 hp. A six-speed manual transmission with shorter shift throws is standard, while Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch transmission is optional.

Design and chassis

Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels finished in titanium gray, the Sport Chrono package and a PASM sports chassis that lowers the body by 20 mm. The lower ride height reduces the vehicle’s center of gravity and supports more agile handling.

Porsche Communication Management is replaced by a storage compartment as standard, reinforcing the car’s focused character. Customers who prefer the infotainment system can request it at no additional cost.

Inside, the T models feature a leather-wrapped GT sports steering wheel with a driving-mode selector, model-specific “Cayman T” or “Boxster T” logos and gloss-black decorative trim. Exterior distinctions include agate-gray mirror housings and a centrally positioned sports exhaust.

According to Porsche, the T package offered a saving of approximately 5–10% compared with specifying equivalent equipment individually on a standard model.

Performance

The turbocharged engine develops 380 Nm of maximum torque and can rev to 7,500 rpm. The 718 T accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 275 km/h.

Both versions also include dynamic powertrain mounts. These help reduce engine movement and vibration while supporting stability during more committed driving.
