The Tesla Model 3 Costs €59,100 in Spain While Buyers Await a More Affordable Version
The Tesla Model 3 Long Range Dual Motor arrived in Spain with a starting price of €59,100 before optional extras. As one of the first configurations offered in the country, it was considerably more expensive than the affordable electric car originally envisioned for the Model 3 lineup.
The other initial option was the Model 3 Performance. It combined a large battery with two motors and all-wheel drive while adding equipment focused on stronger performance.
Model 3 ordering and deliveries
Tesla planned to begin accepting Spanish orders with priority given to customers who had already reserved the vehicle through the company’s website. The first deliveries were expected in February 2019.
Model 3 versions arriving in Spain
Long Range Dual Motor
The Long Range Dual Motor version had a stated WLTP range of 544 kilometres per charge. Tesla did not publish its power or torque figures, but the available performance specifications included:
- Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds
- Maximum speed of 233 km/h
- Standard 19-inch alloy wheels
Model 3 Performance
The Performance version improved acceleration and maximum speed, reaching 100 km/h from rest in 3.7 seconds and offering a top speed of 250 km/h. Its additional equipment included:
- 20-inch wheels
- Performance suspension and brakes
- Carbon-fibre spoiler
- Sport pedals
The additional performance equipment increased the vehicle’s weight, reducing its stated WLTP range to 530 kilometres per charge.
Waiting for the affordable version
Spanish buyers still had to wait for pricing and availability details for the less expensive, single-motor, rear-wheel-drive Model 3. At the time, that version had been announced in the United States with a price of $35,000.
