Polestar 2

Do you remember Polestar? Yes, the sports division that Volvo had and that now will be dedicated to producing electric vehicles. Courage, it sure sounds because we talked about them. Well, at the Geneva Motor Show we can see the Polestar 2 , a direct rival of the Tesla Model 3.

The Polestar 2 is a 100% electric saloon that we can see on our streets after 2020 . It has total traction thanks to the help of electric power and is the younger brother of the Polestar 1, a coupe of more than 145,000 euros and 600 horses.

We still did not know anything about the Polestar 2, and > although the image revealed by Polestar in its social networks at the beginning of the year does not help much, at least we can know a little more about how it will be behind, which seems to distinguish a design similar to what we can see in the Volvo S60, with sober lines and some rear lights united.

Entering in technical aspects, the Polestar 2 could perform 500 kilometers without the need to recharge its batteries , which are located on the vehicle floor thanks to the development around the Volvo CMA platform.

"We are not saying that it is a Tesla Killer, we are here to compete face to face with them in the market. We will launch the Polestar 2 in the second half of 2019 and it will start producing around the beginning of 2020. "said Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar.

 Polestar 1

The price of the Polestar 2 will be 60,000 euros , although your purchase method will have several options . One of them, and the most interesting and curious, is the subscription service with which the company will sell its models. This can be done entirely online or through one of the Polestar Spaces that the firm plans to install in the cities.

Through this payment system, customers will pay a fixed monthly fee that will cover vehicle service , insurance and costs incurred for two or three years. Once the subscription is finished, the vehicle will be returned to Polestar. Curious, is not it?
